The Parents Union will organize workshops to educate and empower parents to advocate on behalf of our children.  The workshops provided will be:

Parent Power Training Workshop – covering Chancellor’s Regs, NYS Education Law, NYC School Governance Law and the Charter Schools Act 2010

Special Education & Advocacy Workshop – covering the basics from having your evaluated, understanding their IEP, advocating for services, IDEA and Civil rights law

Title 1 Workshop – covering federal guidelines of parental involvement in schools that receive Title 1 money

Social Services Workshop – covering applying for Child Health Plus, Medicaid, Housing and other support

Legislative Advocacy & Training Workshop – advocating with your legislator to ensure our kids receive a quality education
